a Study Case from COMPFEST 17 Academy 📃cross-academy Project
As the last academy output, this study case involves members from various academy path namely, Data Science Academy (DSA), User Experience Academy (UXA), Software Engineer Academy (SEA), and Product Management Academy (PMA)
With the existing problem of unemployment in Indonesia, create a solution to help tackle this problem.
In this project, i act as project leader that ensure the delivery of each academy output by the deadline.
After receiving data from Data Science Academy, as PM we help them by gathering supporting evidence through secondary research, especially through global reports and trends.
Eg. Deloitte's Human Capital Trend 2025, McKinsey's HR Monitor 2025, etc
From the research, we found that,
two-thirds (66%) of managers and executives in Deloitte's 2025 Global Human Capital Trends survey say that most recent hires were not fully prepared, and experience was the most common failiing.
Both new workers and career changers struggle to find foothold jobs (for example, entry-level roles or new jobs from a career transition) where they can acquire experience, even in sectors that are desperate for people.
According to McKinsey's 2025 HR Monitor Survey HR professionals are increasingly reporting that employees, both current and newly hired, lack the skills required to meet business demands.
Companies are not proactively assessing the skills they have or lack, and they are not hiring and developing employees based on the SWP findings. (Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP))
W1 : Why the open unemployment rate is still high?
A1 : Because HR have difficulties regarding candidate skill-issue
W2 : Why there are skill-issue with candidates?
A2 : Because formal education don’t equip them enough with skills needed by the industry
W3 : Why the candidate don’t patch their skill-issue elsewhere?
A3 : Because they have difficulties in time and cost from existing courses
W4 : Why there are difficulties in time and cost for existing courses?
A4 : Because many of the existing courses offer fixed modules courses with full prices.
W5 : Why a more flexible courses don’t exist?
A5 : Current course programs rely on Job/Role-Focused Learning Path, and didn’t offer a more flexible skill-focused learning path
